May 2019 | Las Vegas | Insomniac
Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Las Vegas is the world’s most prominent electric music festival, with over 400.000 visitors. Camp EDC Las Vegas attendees can call Camp EDC their home away from home. Besides a place to sleep, Camp EDC offers an experience on its own with free massages, haircuts, makeup artists, yoga classes, standup comedy, and various carnival rides. And a pre-festival opening party for 22.000 people, four after-parties, 24/7 entertainment, food, and drinks for five days straight.
So, our client Insomniac asked Backbone International for the entire production. Besides, Backbone was responsible for the overlay of Camp EDC and the operations during the festival. The terrain was covered with over 8000 km2 of Astro Turf before 4.800 tents with airconditioning and power were set up. We arranged all practical necessities for 1.500 RVs, like power, RV water refills, and pump-out. This year also, more bathrooms and showers were built, and we improved the site layout and the number of check-in lanes for shorter waiting times at the gates.
To make Camp EDC a genuinely unforgettable experience, Mesa was built. This central hub on Camp EDC contained three enormous shade structures for various workshops, a Spa Salon, and four swimming pools. With a farmers market, general store, and many food & beverage options, attendees had much to choose from. A splash ride and Ferris wheel were installed to top it off.
