Sep 2012 | Amsterdam, The Netherlands | VOGUE
On September 13, 2012, the world-famous VOGUE Fashion’s Night Out was held for the first time in Amsterdam. And thus, it became the fashion capital. VOGUE Fashion’s Night Out is a collaboration between VOGUE, Bijenkorf Amsterdam, and high-end stores from PC Hooftstraat and Van Baerlestraat. As many as 77 stores participated in Fashion’s Night Out, each with its own special program. Participating stores were open until late in the evening and everywhere special extra events were organized. The best Dutch designers, models, fashion editors, and photographers participated. You can also enjoy specially decorated shop windows, exclusive and limited edition products, cocktails, and music. Fashion’s Night Out is the fashion event of the year, an event where fashion is celebrated extensively.
Especially for the occasion, two VOGUE pop-up stores were created. One on the third floor of the Bijenkorf on the Dam in Amsterdam. And one in the still-under-construction and yet-to-be-opened Hugo Boss store in the PC Hooftstraat. These VOGUE pop-up stores were festively opened with the sounds of the Pasveer Brass Band from Leeuwarden playing a spectacular version of Madonna’s VOGUE.
In front of the pop-up store in the P.C. Hooftstraat, there were performances by Lieke van Lexmond and Moke. The new A-Class from Mercedes-Benz and Moet & Chandon Tuk-Tuks drove around for the free shuttle service to drive the visitors of the Bijenkorf and the PC Hooftstraat back and forth. Also, visitors to the Stedelijk Museum could have their pictures taken together with Viktor & Rolf, thereby creating their own VOGUE cover. Invitees of VOGUE the Netherlands could continue enjoying the festivities during the after-party with DJ Wix in the Conservatorium Hotel, which lasted until the early hours.
Backbone had the honor of organizing this fantastic event for the first time in the Netherlands together with the fantastic team of VOGUE the Netherlands and super stylist Susan.
