About the Dutch Darts Masters

On the 24th and 25th of June 2022, the Dutch Darts Masters took place in the Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam. Part of the PDC’s World Series of Darts 2022, this event brought eight of the world’s best darts players face-to-face with eight qualifiers from the Netherlands in a knockout format game. This event included the likes of three-time PDC World Champion Michael van Gerwen of the Netherlands and current World Champion Peter ‘Snakebite’ Wright of Scotland. The Dutch tour card holders had the likes of Danny Noppert, Dirk van Duijvenbode, Vincent van der Voort, and more. The live spectacle saw a turnout of 17,000 attendees at the dome.

Role of Backbone

Backbone was tasked with the complete technical production of the event and managed all things related to light, sound, video, and decorations among other things. The build-up started on June 23rd and during the evening of the 24th, the first game took place. Our team was also responsible for the coordination between the different suppliers, broadcast networks, and streaming services such as Viaplay, BBC, and the Darts organization’s own streaming service (via NEP).
