Oct 2018 | Amsterdam | ALDA
In 2013 the dance industry in the Netherlands celebrated its 25th anniversary. With the start of the most significant event of ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) and the Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF). After years of growing bigger, fans could get closer than ever to their favorite artist at AMF 2018 because of the brand new party pit behind the DJ booth. With the AMF hotel, the sentence eat, sleep, rave, and repeat got a whole new meaning.
Backbone was responsible for technical production & technical design, and overlay management. The AMF is characterized by a challenging but astonishing stage design created by 250K. Backbone translated this stage design into technical and logistical reality. Next to the technical realization of the stage design, Backbone was also responsible for the site production of the Johan Cruijf Arena and the outside area.
This massive operation was managed by a production manager and technical producer provided by Backbone. Which was responsible for the entire production process, budgeting, and logistics.
Due to a Champions League soccer game, the Backbone International team only received a 24-hour time window covering the pitch for the complete load in, show and load out. A unique feature, however, was the trussing construction in the arena’s roof with LED. Which optically lowered the ceiling resembling a more club-like feeling. Although this is a logistical nightmare for most companies, our team got praised for getting this job done accurately and efficiently.
