Aug 2019 | Haarlemmermeer | Mysteryland
Mysteryland is the world’s longest-running electronic music festival, founded in 1993. In the year 2019, the festival celebrated its 26th edition. On this 3-day event on the former Floriade terrain in Haarlemmermeer, they have again welcomed more than 100.000 party animals from over 100 countries in their world of mysteries.
Over 300 artists performed on 17 handcrafted stages, covering all electronic music genres. On Saturday and Sunday nights, Mysteryland closed with the renowned end shows on the main and Q-dance stages. Besides all the dance floors, various chill-out spaces and art installations were built, and the Healing Garden treated the spiritual beings among the visitors.
The Mysteryland camping grounds offered the most dedicated visitors the complete festival experience. With a market street, more than 80 food trucks, pre-set camping accommodations, morning yoga, pre- and afterparties, and other surprising activities.
Backbone International has been involved in the production of Mysteryland for many years now, working closely with its production team. For this year’s edition we took care of, among other things, the technical design and technical production of the Main stage, Q-dance stage, Big Top tent, Holland Casino Zipline, and several chill-out areas. We were also in charge of the execution of the campsite production and last but not least, our Risk & Crowd Services Manager supported our clients’ Crowd Service Manager in ensuring the safety of all visitors during the entire festival.
The load-in started on the 9th of August in the rain, just like the years before. However, during the production period, the temperatures were rising to quite extreme for this time of the year. Nevertheless, Our team managed to keep their heads cool and finish the load within a couple of days.
