The Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF) is an annual event held during the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). The greatest DJs in the world performed at the largest showcase of electronic music at the AMF editions in 2013 (RAI, Amsterdam), 2014 & 2015 (Amsterdam Arena), and 2016 (Amsterdam Arena, Ziggo Dome & Heineken Music Hall).
Backbone was responsible for production management, technical production & technical design, and overlay management for all editions. The AMF is characterized by challenging but astonishing stage designs created by 250K. Backbone translated these stage designs into technical and logistical reality. Next to the technical realization of the various stage designs, Backbone was also responsible for the site production of the multiple locations and the outside areas.
Backbone also took care of the entire sourcing of facilities. Services were required through structured pitch documents purchased through the client. This massive operation was managed by a production manager provided by Backbone, who was responsible for the entire production process, budgeting, and logistics. Often, this production manager had a dual capacity: production manager and technical producer.
From 2013 until 2016, Backbone produced 22 shows in the RAI Amsterdam, Amsterdam Arena, Ziggo Dome, and HMH (AFAS Live).
