Bevrijdingsfestival Utrecht is the provincial celebration of Liberation Day in the Utrecht province. The event was held since in 1993. It is an accessible, free-of-charge, contemporary event. The festival has a broad set-up and offers, besides music, a variety of (interactive) program components around the themes of 5 May. Bevrijdingsfestival Utrecht 2019 theme was “Choosing in Freedom.”
So, this was the first time Backbone International assisted with producing this event. Backbone International handled the technical production and overlay management for our client Productieteam.
Our relatively small team buildup four different areas with something for everyone. On the main stage, renowned artists were booked, while rising talents performed on the SENA Performers Stage. And there was room for cultural performances on the Freedom Stage, and local talents could show their skills on the Talent Stage. The fire truck with a ladder supporting the tent was a nice detail on the Freedom Stage.
Besides the many festivities, there was also room made for serious subjects. On the Freedom Square non-profit civil society organizations got the possibility to present themselves to the visitors. To complete this event, many food trucks were present for which practical arrangements had to be made. Last, a Children’s Festival was set up for the smallest visitors.
