Hard Summer Music Festival returned to the NOS Event Center in San Bernardino this year, adding an extra day to their schedule. From July 29 to 31, the event featured more than 100 artists ranging from hip-hop, house, and the techno music scene, including headline acts such as Lil Uzi Vert, Megan Thee Stallion, and Porter Robinson, to name just a few.
Backbone was tasked with the exterior and shuttle operations of the event. The exterior operations included all surrounding areas’ assets, with the main goal to ensure pedestrian and vehicular safety. We ensured over 100 light towers were installed to light up specific zones. And the parking lots, plus portable toilets were placed at the critical pedestrian flow areas. The team also created temporary traffic structures to facilitate road closures and managed the pedestrian incoming and outgoing traffic on show days, among many other things.
Additionally, Backbone was in charge of running the Hard Summer shuttle program, which had more than 15,000 riders. A system was set up to get the guests to and from the event safely. Backbone was responsible to arrange the shuttle buses and services such as Uber, Lyft, and taxis. All while ensuring they a safe place to wait for their rides, including wifi and charging banks.
