Sep 2022 | San Bernadino, California, USA | Insomniac Events
“Celebrating 27 years of dancing in the dark”, Nocturnal Wonderland was back! From 17 to 18 September, the electronic dance festival lit up San Bernardino, California’s night skies by presenting a variety of trance, drum and bass, breakbeat, and house music. With performances by Armand van Helden, Dillon Francis, Yellow Claw, and many other DJs and artists.
Backbone managed the camping site operations, camp activities, exterior operations, ride-share operations, and the event’s shuttle program. With an overall attendance of almost 45,000 – 11,000 of those visitors stayed the night on the campsite. In close collaboration with Brok Decor BV, Backbone brought Insomniac’s campground vision to life. From the infrastructure of the grounds to activity curation and decor. The team planned, procured, and maintained assets across the site. This included tents, turfs, shower areas, office containers, portable restrooms and lighting. We also helped plan and execute activities in Nocturnal Wonderland’s Moonlight Grove area with yoga sessions, tie-dye, and a nightly silent disco.
The team managed the vehicular and pedestrian flow for the exterior operations, including traffic and parking operations, exterior wayfinding signage & ingress/egress safety. We also installed temporary traffic safety infrastructure and managed vehicular and pedestrian flow of the lot for all pick up/drop offs by taxis and other ride shares. Lastly, the team ran the shuttle program. This means that with buses running to and from the event to Ontario, CA; the San Fernando Valley; Downtown LA; and Orange County!
