Nov 2019 | Arnhem | Q-dance
Qlimax is the biggest annual indoor show within the harder styles. Which has taken place in the GelreDome Arnhem since 2003. It is always accompanied by a new theme, often from a spiritual or biological perspective. This 27th edition was about the Symphony of Shadows and consisted of 11 of the most iconic artists, bringing their newest music to this immense venue. The event is well known for its structure in music styles leading to a climax, to which the name refers. It often opens with early hardstyle, is dominated by hardstyle, and closes with a hardcore artist.
Qlimax contains some of any production’s most sophisticated productional and technical elements. As one of the long-term partners of our client Q-dance, our Backbone International team took care of the technical production. While we also worked closely together with our client on the technical design.
After the warmup mix by the masked DJ The Qreator, it was time for the official opening and the reveal of the stage, one of the main elements of this show. With a lot of thunder, fireworks, and smoke the stage appeared with the fall of the white curtain. And the warm welcome by and tribute to the deceased Chris Corley, aka the voice of Qlimax. Other advanced show elements were the hologram projection on the screen behind the DJ booth accompanied by a flying aerialist, a hardstyle choir, the moving light & deco objects, and of course the impressive light, laser, and pyrotechnical show. In addition to the technical production and design, the site production and risk & crowd services for this event were also in the skilled hands of our team.
