Red Bull Uncontained is a world-class BMX event in the highest and most challenging park ever built. Inspired by Drew Bezanson’s project Uncontainable, 16 world-class riders left their comfort zone. They demonstrated their best skills in this competition at the Papierfabriek, the Netherlands. After only one week of training in the park, two teams battled it out in head-to-head rounds, with five judges judging the riders of five different parts of BMX: Variety, Use of Course, Style, Guts, and Execution. Before the Red Bull Uncontained show, there was a BMX festival in halls 1 & 2 with clinics and workshops. And there were meet & greets with the riders, a gaming area, (partner)activities, and many more.
Our client Tribe Company organized this event in commission by Red Bull. They asked us to take care of the production management, technical production, technical design and overlay management of this event. After starting the load-in, the track was built in 3 weeks by experienced BMX track builders, who’vemadet the highest ramp ever for a BMX competition. When they were finished, our team returned for the show production and the buildup of the most elevated SteelSpan construction ever built by our supplier for the 2000 PAX grandstands. This event location was not an existing event venue before, so we had to make calculations to determine the site’s capacity. However, the biggest challenge of this project was producing this enormous event at these empty factory halls. Because all facilities such as water, electricity, light, and evacuation exits had to be installed temporarily.
