Sun, sand, cold drinks, and performances by top Dutch artists like Davina Michelle, Antoon, and Kriss Kross Amsterdam (to name a few) equals Strandfestival ZAND. On the 19th of August, the 14th edition of the annual festival took place on the beach of Almere and attracted over 15,000 visitors.
Tribe, the festival’s organizer, asked Backbone to handle the 2D and 3D drawings, overlay, production management, and technical production. As a large part of the main stage was on a dike, the team needed to arrange the calculations and logistics. Our team needed numerous trucks of plates, and keeping an eye on potential coastline changes was essential. Further, as no power was available on the beach, the team created infrastructure to allow and provide for it.
Lastly, because the city’s main train station was quite a journey for attendees on foot, team Backbone created a safe and illuminated pathway for people to travel back and forth.
