About Unite

On July 23rd, Unite took place. For the People of Tomorrow, united in India, Mexico, Germany, Colombia, South Africa, Japan, and Israel. Building bridges between Belgium and the rest of the world with a live connection from the Tomorrowland Mainstage, Live DJ sets on the local UNITE stage, and the unique, magical Tomorrowland atmosphere: that’s UNITE, the mirror to Tomorrowland.

Role of Backbone

Backbone was challenged to consult on the complete technical production and local project management for this unique project. There were 2 locations during the first edition of UNITE in 2015; in 2016, this number increased to 6. Six events, six live connections, six venues, and six crowds in 5 different time zones! The challenge in this project was the communication required to organize all technical aspects in detail so that the live connection worked properly. In addition, it was vital to produce six world-class events. Working closely with six local promotors and the highly qualified Tomorrowland team in Belgium was an enormously positive experience. The live connection worked smoothly, and the main stage of Tomorrowland in Belgium was connected with the rest of the world for several hours.
