The Friends of Amstel LIVE! and The Flying Dutch joined forces for a unique event: Vliegende Vrienden van Amstel Live! Flying to Eindhoven, Zwolle, and Amsterdam on September 15, 2018. With performances by Dutch artist such as BLØF, Chef’Special, Broederliefde, and Guus Meeuwis.
Backbone assisted clients The Flying Dutch, Tribe Company, and Amstel with technical production, overlay management, and technical design for this event.
We had to use a different approach for the overlay and logistical challenges for each location and dealing with different regulations. Ultimately, there was a great show day with excellent weather and atmosphere. It was a success, as 120,000 visitors spread over Zwolle, Eindhoven, and Amsterdam.
Some interesting stage facts: Stage dimensions are 65m wide and 26m high. With a playing surface of 20×16. There was a 600m black steel in the stage and delay towers 400m2 led, 275 div fixtures (lamps), 76 rigging points, 14m monorail, 600m Alu truss, 112 top speakers, 32 sub speakers, and 5x SD7 audio tables on, 11 camera positions and 1400m2 deco and 565m2 banner per stage.
